IAC recalls suspension of type certificates of Russian Boeings
MOSCOW, Nov 6 (PRIME) -- The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has recalled its letter in which it suspended type certificates of Boeing 737 planes in Russia and prepared a new letter, Natalya Filyova, co-owner of S7 Group, told reporters Friday following a meeting at the Federal Air Transport Agency.
“The IAC has recalled the letter…We were gathered. They have sent another letter. No one has seen it yet, it has just come,” she said.
On Thursday, the IAC suspended all type certificates of Boeing 737 planes as their fail-safe system of elevating rudder control needs improvement. The committee is worried that Russian air authorities discussed possible upgrades of Boeing 737 systems in 2013 after a plane crash in Kazan but did not inform airlines and other Russian state authorities, the committee said.
